Do you want to retain highway cruising comfort?

highway cruising comfort in my car is long gone, it already jumps around a hell of a lot so I really don't care haha. But yeah I'd like to maintain the bit it currently has.

Trial Jimny Gears are a gear set that you swap into your existing transfer case. They give the same amount of reduction to high and low range, typically 20%, 24% and 27% depending on which model Jimny you have.
The problem with Trial Jimny Gears is that your highway speed is dramatically compromised, e.g.; Your 225s would have made your final drive ratio taller by about 8or 9%, add 20% gears and you've dropped your highway speed by 11 or 12%.

Your 2008 Jimny has a lower geared gearbox compared to the pre 2006 Jimnys so a Sierra transfer swap won't be suitable unless you do what I did and swap your gearbox as well.

My Jimny runs 30s and with the gearbox and transfer swap the final drive ratio is the same as a stock 2006 VVT Jimny with stock tyres = Good all round performance.

ok but if i go a size up with my tyres to a 30" and I have the Trail Jimny Gears fitted, would that even it out to a stock ratio but with 30s instead of the 205s?

If you step up to a set of 31s it may be OK with the 20% gears
