I'm changing the clutch in my '92 Sierra, but can't get my transmission out of the car. It's been disconnected from everything according to the workshop manual, but I can't get it to clear the support bracket on the chassis and the engine.
I've heard a few people cut or bend this bracket, or pull out their engine. I really don't want to do either, but have also spent close to an hour trying to find a way to drop it out without success.

need to rotate it 45 degrees or so towards the drivers side (or maybe the passenger side, can't remember ) but it drops out easily once the square top part of the bell housing can clear the clutch when it's over to one side.
