I have done a search but can't find any details, is there a 'how to' guide for converting auto hubs to manual locking hubs?

Unbolt the auto, slide off, slide on manual, bolt on - test drive.

It really is that simple - it's probably why you're not finding a guide - it's really not necessary.

Six bolts hold the auto hub on, remove them, slide the hub off, and then follow the instructions that came with your manual hubs, which will go along the lines of - grease the paper washer and install, slide the hub base on and bolt down with the six bolts from the auto hub, install a second greased paper washer, and add the hub cap and secure with six allen screws,

It's pretty much as Fordem said.
Use a torque wrench to tighten these bolts. Make sure they come with cone washers, or get ready to lock them a different way.

Are these the cone washers you are talking about?

What about the vacuum lines? Do I need to block them off?

1 - Whether or not cone washers are required will depend on the particular free wheel hubs used - OE Aisins use them, as far as I know none of the after market hubs do.

2 - What vacuum lines? As far as I know, the auto hubs on the SV series are not vacuum operated.

I just assumed that they were vacuum operated, that makes the change over easy!

Now I just need to order the paper gaskets, I guess I just get these from Suzuki?

That's right.
Yeah cone washers come with the AISIN or stock vitara hubs. AFAIK they help keep the hub bolted in without thread lock.

As for gaskets, you can order them (I think suzistore has them) or cut them yourself like I did. Not hard, just need to buy some gasket material, trace the holes and then do a bit of exacto knife work.

Hubs of an SE Vitara will bolt straight on they are what is currently on my SV420. I also changed over to bolts with allen key heads. Makes it slightly easier to take the hubs off instead of trying to get a socket over the hex heads.
