When in mud I am continually getting hung up on my spring plates and i think that it is mostly because of how sharp they are, not rounded edges and the bolts dig straight in aswell. I saw this on Outers:



and thought it was a great idea. Anyone know if these are made by anyone for sierra's? I realise you would have to relocate the bottom shock mount but that is nothing too big, anything else that would stop this from being run on a sierra?

I dont think it is as much of a prob as you think but calmini or trail tough make a skid spring plate, different to that but same effect

that setup you would want to be confident that the design and welds are up to scratch

yeah i suppose, just need more hieght over the diff. I need bigger tyres but i thought this could be a potential answer

Cut the U bolts off level with the bottom of the nuts and shave the diff. Will get you and extra inch & a bit of ground clearance.
BUT if you are constantly getting hung up on the spring plates.... You need bigger tyres.

And even if your welds are good you still have a heat affected zone. I'd be much more comfortable with that bottom plate being made from 1 piece of material. You should be able to get something like that press bent.
