1.3 centres won't fit into 1.0 housings.

The 1.3 narrow track diff housing is exactly the same in width and mounts.
You can just unbolt 1 litre housings and bolt a 1.3 NT housing in instead. Then you can have the larger axles, bigger centres, better choice of lockers.
Unless you have a late model maruti then it may be a wide track but tthat is completly different kettle of fish.
410 centre does not fit at all into the 413 housing amd vice versa

get some rear sidegears from a 410 diff and place them in the front diff.

rear sidegears are 26splnes. and 26splines needs to go with 4 pinion gears. Does the 410 front centre comes with 4 pinion?

They will be some tough 410 diffs! I wonder if he's going to bust and ring & pinions?

I reckon 1.0 diffs are underrated - they seem pretty strong in my experience. I ran 34 swampers, gears and a turbo 660 through mine with 1.3 NT CV's and a welded rear. I did break an axle, but that just means I would have broken a 1.3 axle in the same spot. (too much boot in 1st low)
Steve.

4.88 LJ gears in 1 litre centres with 36's and a 1.6 gemini motor with a jackeroo box and transfer and a 1 litre transfer hold up pretty well

Bit of a dig
So Steve, Royce and any others; just how strong do you reckon these 1.0L/LJ size centres are? you both seem to think they are not that bad.
Just I'm about to start playing around with some LJ80 stockman axles, still not 100% sure what motor I want to put in front of them (would definitley never be bigger than a G16), just dont want to spend to much time with the centres if I'd be better off trying to get 1.3 centres grafted into the housings. So in reality am I likely to do a centre? or are the axles still the weak point?
Joe do you still have that LSD? if some other things go right with this project of mine I might contact you about it
