Bit of a nooby question but my starter motor is stuffed and I don't have time to strip it down and recondition it, so I need a new one. Pulled the old one out and the part label is pretty torn up so I'm not sure whether it's 0.8kW or 0.9kW - but the FSM says it's important to match what's currently fitted.

I'm guessing it's probably a 0.8kW as it looks the same as the 0.8kW fat body 1.3L starters with non-threaded holes available on eBay (eg this one), but can anyone confirm that based on what's left of the label or the starter itself?

I doubt it will matter. Its a mitsubishi Starter motor. They are all similar if you find one with a fat body.

I now have newer mitsu mirage internals in my sierra housing as its machined/ground down for a 1.6 block. Same internals. Same brushes. Similar solinoid.
The only main difference is a more offset alloy housing section for the solinoid.

Hyundai excel are similar again(copy) but korean.

Cheers Joe - I'm going to order one of the cheapy eBay ones cos it's new 'n shiny but if it doesn't fit or something I'll sling a case of your favourite frothy beverage your way for yours :)
