hey guys my engine swap is basicaly complete for some reason my starter motor is giving me troubles not sure why yet its just making a clunking noise but had it tested and is suposably fine :S. but the main problem is the fuel pump i took the fuel pump off and i have placed it back on and now its not pumping :S just wondering can any one explain how the pumps work and what moves the lever from what i can see i thought it was oil pressure that flowed into the pump moved the lever not sure though just a guess but if any one has any idea on how to fix it thanks luke

It`s a 8 valve? sounds like the push rod in the head fell out, have a look under the car.

Yes. That`s the one! If that`s in you may not be geting the lever against it properly, thay can be temperamental.

You interested in a wheel at the g'house. Check out my post in trips & travel. Good luck with the fuel pump mate. I found it easier to make sure the pin(moves on cam rotation)is out a fraction from its locating hole and locate the arm on the pin, put bolts in and do up from side to side gradually. Not sure how other blokes do it but it worked for me. Hope this makes sense and helps you out a bit.

More than welcome mate...I know 1/10th of what some guys on this site, but i like to give feedback on the little i do. This site has helped me learn a lot already, it is excellent. Don't worry about the stoko thing you'll be alright. Don't be affraid of asking 'stupid questions either" I have, you may cop a bit of shit, but you always get the answer you need. :D
