Hi All,

As the title suggests..can it be done? Is it in the too hard basket? Any thoughts??

Will be for a coily with a 1.6 injected vit engine.

Cheers

Rusho

always wondered if you could mate a 3speed japanese jimny/sierra box with some other box to make a 4speed for a carby.

I suppose the aus auto jimny boxes will appear in numbers on the market soon.
I have read the vit set ups are so much beefier but i reaaaally hate mods that can't be reversed. (ie cutting tunnels & other bootyfab, Bolt in bolt out is how i roll.)

Santos,

If you use the above mentioned kit it IS completely reversable. So you have widened the tunnel to fit the auto.... who cares. It won't stop you from putting a 5sp back in there.

But I have to ask, why would you want to reverse this mod ayway???

how about a g13bb and auto conversion but with a 1.6 and retuned to suit?

or a vit 4 sp auto with the transfer chopped, then you get duals too :)

Royce this has been discussed in length on outers, and the general opinion is that the BB auto is great behind the 1.3, but wouldn't last 10 mins behind the 1.6 MPFI. And there are no upgrades for the BB auto.

IMO it would be well worth fitting the AW4 vit auto either behind the 1.3 G or BB, or even better a G16.
