Price: $800 plus freight $600 bottom end plus freight $200 head plus freight
Location: Melbourne northen suburbs will also swap for good late model Jimny M series gearbox freighted to Melbourne.

Can I have some pics of the SX4 motor? I suspect that the sump arrangement is dramaticly different to vitara.

Thanks for the pics. But as I suspected, the sump and subsequent bottom block casting ( see the horizontal seam under the oil filter ) is reversed. It may be interchangable with the J20 vitara casting and sump, but it would be a suck it and see situation. I have no idea how much of the motor would need to be stripped to complete this job, but given its proximity t5o the crank I'd say its a bottom end tear down.
With the SX4 sump, this won't fit a vitara, and I'd guess its not much better for a sierra that doesn't have SPOA.

i'm guessing it would have been out of a SV or SQ rather than a SX4, but it doesn't say. trying to find the bits to convert it to rear sump etc might be hard to get without buying a motor. do these things run a cam position sensor at the rear of the head on the LHS like the SV & SQ's?

Will this bolt directly into my 2000 GV do you know? I have valve noise and a couple of gremlins that are going to take alot of time to fix and might be easier to just take the bare motor and bolt all my early gv electronics and shit to it and drop it back in then rebuild teh orginal motor with some go fast bits If it wil drop straight in i will take it this week Dave

Adam called you and left a message, I also have as mentioned I think earlier I have a complete J18 engine from a gtx baleno that was crashed but kept for interchangeability and spare head for porting in case I built a hotty later on.
