Maxxis Mudzilla are Bias - 31x11.50" 15
Interco Super Swamper Bias are Bias - 31x10.50" 15 or 29x8.5" 15

Great road and beach tyre. Alright in the bush in the dry, but generally too small for my liking.

Simex Centipede MT 31x10.5R15:
Good all rounder, but not really great at anything. A little noisy on road, but not to bad. Were fine with the 1.3, though with a 1.6 now they break traction in the wet. They do seem to chip and cut a bit easy in the bush too.

Silverstone MT-117 Extreme 31x10.5-15
Brilliant tyre, hideous on road though tolerable because I know how well they work offroad. I appreciate how good they really are when I go 4wding with the Simex MT's on, the Silverstone's really are leagues ahead. A bit like ball bearings on gravel at any speed, but the one terrain I am slightly dissapointed with them in is mud But I can live with that

awesome offroad at 5lbs or less there is nothing that will stop them.
they suck arse on road however, they are the nastiest thing I've ever driven on the black top, and that includes flats and tractor tyres
but i'd buy them again or simex's


the best all round mud tyre I've used and I've tried a few on my work cars is maxxis bighorns.
Great grip on road and not too noisy
Fantastic off road on everything except axle deep mud and even then they are quiet good.
wear great and never had a flat on any of our utes in two years
use them on all my work utes now

I have had BFG for my last two sets of tyres.

First was a set of 235/75 ATs. They were quite good for a daily driver. Road manners were nice, actually had too much traction on soft sand. They clogged badly in mud but were quite good on rocky trails, although they tend to pick small stones up... a lot.

2nd I picked up a near new set of 215/75 MTs. Were really good although the narrow width meant they needed to be aired down a bit more on soft sand. Understandably not as good on road as the MTs.

I'm now running a set of 235/75 Federal Couagia MTs. I can't comment on their off road ability yet as I haven't had time to get out on them. On road they're much noisier than the BFG MTs but I'm sure it will be worth putting up width.

Most importantly they look tough

I've run 2 sets of Good~Gear MT/R's in 30's & 31's & they are an awesome all terrain tyre, not sure what I'll go next time but it will be more angry than the MT/R's.

they have really heavy sidewalls for such a light car. They wouldnt bag at first but the harsher i am on them the softer they get, i usually run them on 30psi if i have to drive it to work for whatever reason, 12psi as a start offroad or general driving, and i often take them right down to 5psi - 0psi depending on terrain. Haven't lost a bead yet, even though one beeds full of crap it still stayed seated.

Bag nice at 12 psi everywhere. 28psi onroad. Cannot get bogged in sand trying to dig holes in 2wd. (1.6 is good for 2wd on sand) Never popped a bead or shit in bead.

Got for $185 each. Good price for the size..

I run those and think the sidewalls are actually a lot more flexible than other tyres in the same class. I have a 3" tear in one of them, and I can see that there isn't much to the sidwall.

Compared to Zuks on Baja MTZs, Mudzillas, Swampers, Mongrels, Centipedes, I'd say they the Treps are possibly the most flexible.

i can only compare with others i've been wheeling with but i've had the hardest sidewalls out of all i've seen. To the point where i had zero psi in one tyre and didnt notice till i drove it and still had to check it twice to work out it was actually not holding air.

Baja MTZ's - McWilly has a set that bag heaps easier than mine,
Mongrels - a mate runs them on his hilux and previously on a rocky, bag very very easy and much more than mine. (i know the hilux/rocky weigh more)

Most people i know run bigger trucks so there is no point comparing 35 whatevers on a cruiser as its not relivant.

Interesting, but I wheel regularly with Zuks only and the odd Jeep, and have had a different experience. Mongrels stiffness depend on what they were remoulded from, and I have seen they are generally very stiff on a Zuk, and have been told they vary depending on batch.

Procomp Xterrains 31x10.5x15 goin good for the last...?2 years? were newish on the zook when I purchased it, and i have only recently noticed some unusual wear on the front left.. unsure as to why thou.. the zook is used as a daily, they road noise isnt 'quiet' but certainly aint no biplane either.. will be replacing over the next 6-12 months with 31 or 33 SS 117's..-nothin wrong with noisy tires

I run the new revised version of the 33x10.5x15 silverstone mt117 extreme which measures 34.7x11. They are a very soft compound so wear alot on road and are very noisey and very uncomfortable at any speed over 80km/h. They are awesome offroad but. They shed mud well not to bad on the beach at low pressure and not to bAd on rock etc I'm pretty impressed the massive tread just seems to eat it's way over stuff. Very impressed and at 318 a tyre for pretty much a 35 good value aswell.

I bought some new tyres in Jan 09, for my 89 Vit, mine are Kumho Road Venture AT's LT's ( Light Truck) in 215x75R15's, $175 each from Tyre Power !

I did my research before i bought them, checked out the offroad websites for their tyre reviews, found the Kumho's suited me the best, and they are a true All Terrain ! They also had one of the highest speed ratings for an AT tyre, 180kph ! And the tyre is rated to a 1100kg load rating...

I drive mainly onroad, and they handle Very well onroad, have taken them offroad at the beach a few times, again they did very well
I am very happy with my tyre choice !

Yes, BFG AT's, when i was researching tyres, i only read bad things about BFG's, mostly onroad, but some offroad...
They dont like wet tarmac, they aqua plane to much, they dont have good dry onroad manners, they roll on the rims to much, and they have one of the lowest onroad speed ratings... offroad, i read they dont balloon on sand very well, and they clog up in mud...
But they may have improved a bit since early 09, but i doubt it...

32x11.5 Interco TSL/SX swampers - Not too bad on road as sidewall is stiffer than standard TSL, still nothing flash though. Offroad they stick to everything though need damn low pressure to work ~4psi or so. I can drive on then at 0psi if needed.

33x12.5 Interco Bogger - Terrible on road, brilliant offroad. Very slight slip on steep muddy side hills, but nothing major.

31x10.5 MTR's - Excellent all round tyre, only real problem is not shedding mud very well. This doesnt concern me though as mud is shit, its only fun for people that cant think in 3 dimensions.

31x10.5 BFG MT - Simillar to MTR, maybe not suite as nice on road IMHO, but still very good compared to a swamper.

Damn i have to many sets of tyres lying round.

Simex JT2's in a 33x10.5 were horrible on road, horrible in the sand, not the best on rocks but the best tyre ive seen in the mud, got through most bog holes in 2wd.
Maxxis buckshot mudders are my current at 31x10.5 and i have found them to be the best allround tyre i have had, good in all conditions especially the sand, never have to go less than about 10psi.
I think i will try the 34x10.5 ltb as my next tyre.
Khumo road venturer's were the worst tyre i have ever owned in every condition, even on road.

Never had a problem with mine and I'm on my 3rd set. It's very much a personal preference though
