Hi, just wanna know if it's leagal in qld to mount a whinch direct to the chassis so its hidden inside the jimny bumper. Trying to avoid installing a bull bar. to much wieght and throws the front end balance out when racing.... any thoughts?

Dunno how much room there is in a Jimny bumper but I put a 9500lb winch in a custom cradle behind a Sierra bumper.
I don't see any legality issues.

Can this be done to a car that has airbags?

I've been thinking about doing something similar to the GV...

to bring up an old thread, but are their any off the shelf winch cradles available for the sierras that I could adapt to my alloy bar?

no not at all wont be legal you need something airbag compatible better of buying a bull bar of the shelf
