hey guys the other day went 4x4ing the car ended up stopping after i went through a watery mud puddly over my bonnet and sucked in a mouth fall of water. when it stopped for some reason i had water get into the cabin of my car from the bottom up as the water was right at my door sil not over flowing is there any ideads on how and where the water gets in throught the floor cheers

HAHAHA I will post up a picture of last friday night the water was coming in my windows..... Brendan was there....
Mate if you go in water expect to get wet. If you still have the carpet get it out. As Blue said if your going in the water take your bungs out it will speed up the inflow and exit of the water....

Ohhh and sorry to answer your question.
There is about 50 holes in the firewall that only a few are 100% sealed after a few years of driving. when driving through water the water in the engine bay is sloshed around and slapped by the fan onto the firewall and into those holes. And to add to that your floor pan is lower then your door seals so it could be coming up through your bung holes.

yeh it came up im pretty sure so i may get into it with some silicone as i still got the carpet as it is meant to be a every day car to until i get a garage. but another thing i should do i just get my 2inch body lift and 2 inch suspension lift and my 31's to keep it out of the water

Oh and just for those who don't know silcone promotes rust... Use something that is not silicone based.

Coilys and water don't mix. Too much electronics to go wrong. Get yourself an LJ.
When I sometimes drive my LJ through shallow creek crossings, etc, I notice a slight dampness around my feet too and the seat cushion squelches somewhat. It's hardly noticable. Where could the water be coming in from?
If you do find yourself an LJ, you'll hardly notice the mud pooling around your feet and think all your Christmases have come at once!

silicone does not promote rust. ok let me say that again, nutral cure (roofing) silicon will no promote rust. however kitchen and bathroom silicon will, most silicon adhesive will make metal rust. basicly if it got a tangy vinigar smell its going to make metal rust.
if you seal shit use roofing silicon

my sierra aint come across any water crossings yet but i did run it through a puddle i made with the hose and it almost wento ver my roof  bigg hose puddles r fun 
but i used to get water leak in through the top of my doors when it reained and when i washed the car so i bent them in so they hit up against the body properly

Make sure all the obvious holes are covered, but beyond that, I wouldn't do anything special to stop water getting in - It will always get in eventually - all you can do is slow it down. The real key is not doing anything that slows down how fast you can get it out.
I taped over the holes in the kick panels and sills on my car, and that does slow the water coming in a bit.

No more electronics than any leafy, oh, mine have a door switch on the driver's door for interior light, which usually doesn't work anyway...
LJs won't do 140km/h on stock tyres!

My LJ can still accelerate away stongly in 5th gear after the needle has seen the 120kph limit of its speedo, I would be very surprised if your coily could stay with it anywhere, on or offroad. I know you think your coily goes hard with your vit conversion but you need to take a ride in some of the other modified Suzuki's around the place, there are some tuff ones around including LJ's.
