Hi guys,
I have some 22mm negative offset sunraysia rims if I use I will want to flip, to make them a 22mm positive offset sunraysia rim.

I know they are not designed to do this.

Has anyone done it successfully, and still retained good balance and centring of the rim, and not destroyed anything in the process?

Cheers, Davo.

O.k. to clarify what I mean.

I want to use a 22mm offset rim, and turn it around so that the bolt face becomes the mount face and the mount face becomes the bolt face. I can't get rims cut/ modified in Darwin.

I don't think it will work, I have never tried it and it does not sound safe.

But if it works, I shall try it.

So in reference to this, has anyone done what I am thinking of?

Cheers, Davo.

Arn't the wheels bolt holes tapered, so if you turn it around, there will be no tapered face on the wheel.

The rim may rub on the brake caliper too? You could always carefully grind a taper for the wheel nuts. I've seen it done before with standard rims so I don't see any problems with it

Yes Scrawn is right most wheels will bind on your calipers at the front and on the back they will not sit flush with the drum because of the way the wheel centre angles out after the flat mating surface. Some of the early standard sierra rim have a flat centre and they can be reversed and bolted back on, it was done a bit back in the 80's when there were not so many cheap aftermarket rims available. Also don't forget that the tyre valve will face in under the car instead of out and on some models it will rub against te rear backing plate and cut through.

Hey Steknig.

Probably a good idea to drill a new hole.
After all I should need another one anyway for internal beadlocks, if my fiancee evntually gives the go ahead!!

If you are going to spend money on bead locks why try to save money by fliping rims, new rims are only worth about $60 each and come in a range of offsets.
