just wondering what u guys think im looking at getting some 32inch x 12.5 tyres on a set of offset rims just wondering if they would make much of a difference offroad, at the moment my tyres are 30x9.50R15 cheers

Mate honestly unless you are running bigger axils and a megga jacked well set up susspention dont go any bigger then 31s. I am spending all my money on getting off my 33s I f-ing hate them. I have been out countlessd times now with guys that have much much less then me and they run circles around me. Without the power and the axils bigger then 31s you killing power and tearing up things. I was all about being as big as can be and I was ssoooooo wrong. 31-10.50s on a 7 or 8inch rim with a 22 too 28 offset is the way to go.

Have you done anything to your gearing? If you haven't, 32's will make a huge difference offroad and it will ALL be shit. Sort the gears out first before you think about tyres, and the gearing will dictate the sizes of tyres you could fit for your style of wheelin'.

What sort of driving offroad will you be doing? Will it be a daily driver?

i killed a set of the YOKOHAMA Geolander's in 25000ks the MTR's that are on it now have done 55000ks and still have around 8mm of tread left.
that is on my non suzuki shitbox but.

when i originally put them on the MRS car i was a bit worried about wet roads
but they do work quite well. something i have noticed with them though is
they really don't like high pressures, tyre fitters always seem to put 40psi in
them and they chip badly at those pressures.

me mate mad kenny has dueler muddies and he likes them. they seem to
work ok and have lasted him for 6 or 7 years.

Have a look at the Maxxis M8060 Trepador. I reckon they are great on road and off, because they are not simply a non siped open block tread. The debate is still open as to whether the radial version is very tough though.

I have the Trepadors in 31x10.5. Obviously this size is a bit smaller than what you are after but I think the trepadors are a great tyre.

They are decent on road for such an agressive tyre.

I also think they are one of the better looking tyres.

If you think a 33x12.5 will have less rolling resistance & put less strain on the drivetrain than a 31x10.5 then no, you're on drugs.

I'm SURE those guys on 30's would break more shit on 33's if they drove it the same way.

I'm saying there are many tyre combos that suit alot of needs.

My needs are 33's (as yours is similar Dee). Not 31's. Otherwise id be on 31's. People can break anything on anysize they get. So sometimes its size. Sometimes its the driver.

I never said they have less rolling resitance etc. I know they have resistance! I can feel her slowing going down hill!! They are big. They are heavy.

Its just weird that people can run circles around v.w.dave on smaller tyres. Is dave less experienced then some? I dont know and no one knows.

Even 31's are pushing it to be engineered. And you will still be pulled over by a cop and defected for something other then the tyres. No matter what you have to prove.
