hey guys got my g16a carb motor dummied up in a chassis and want to start it and check everything before i pull the 1ltr out of the maruti.
mainly need to know how to wire the coil and dizzy cheers

just run a 12 positive to the coil +and an earth - to the battery and thats the coil sorted, as for the dizzy im sure someone will know that, coil hot wiring is the same for basically all carby cars

12v pos to pos of coil.. nothing to neg of coil as the dizzy trigger's that.
12v pos to pos starter from a battery
neg of batt to the block
coil mount will need a neg or it will not fire

thats how i tried to do it but i had the neg from dizzy to neg of coil but didnt have the coil earthed with a mount that explains the no spark hopefully itll run tomorrow cheers guys

Sorry, I didn't realize you didn't have a harness.
pos of dizzy to pos of coil to
I assume to much.

ok had it all wired up
positive from battery to starter
negative from battery to block
positive from battery to positive of coil
positive from coil to brown wire on dizzy
negative from coil to black wire on dizzy
and coil earthed to block
still no spark !!!!!!
all i can think of is i have a dud dizzy maybe???

Doubt it, coil may be.
Did you see it run before??
Do you have another coil you can try??
Where are you testing for spark? Is the rotor in?

motor has just been rebuilt so havent seen it run yet
had a normal bosh coil set up from another car
then used a bosh gt coil that ive seen used on a mates zook last month
checking for spark on #1 lead with a plug out and earthed
rotor button is in and was not new but also swapped with another one
and timing was all set on the right markes at tdc

I think you may not be getting a good enough earth on the coil body.
Just fit it all to the car, unless you have a harness you can loose to much in the contact's, only take one bad contact to not work.
If there are any problem's 99% of them can be sorted out in the car, eg vacc leak's or the such.

i just wanted to make sure its all good before i put it in my daily driver becuase if i fit it and it doesnt go public transport isnt in my area and with it being a 1ltr once the mounts are cut off theres no turning back
i do have a second wire harness but that is still fitted to another shell ill have another crack at it tomorrow cheers for your help steknig i appreciate it
