I need to replace the timing belt on my 92 vitara should i get a timing belt or a timing belt kit to put on it and are they easy to do or should i get a mechanic to do it

do both the seals

do the bearing if it looks dodgy

its not hard but fiddly

Get the Kit.. You Get the belt, 2 seals & the tensioner bearing.

Its just better to be safe than sorry. If that bearing goes another 20k down the road you'll be kciking your self for not changing it.

I've always thought those kits were waaaay over priced. But in saying that, I still do the lot while I'm in there. They're not a hard belt in comparison to other makes but it's a waste of time just doing the belt. Once it's all done you have peace of mind for 100.000kms. Replace the drive belts too, you gotta take them off so might as well replace them.
