[bugged]

Whilst fixing my starter problem ( thanks guys ) I noticed oil coming out of the bell housing. I'm guessing rear seal engine out new seal and probably clutch????

Try adding some stop leak to your oil, it can swell seals and stop leaks like that.

X2 but dont put to much in. It can cause other problems.

I think Scrawn means replace the seal, not the box. You'll probably find that the seal that's leaking is on the back of the engine so if you replaced the box it would make no difference.

check the dissy housing isnt leaking either, its above the box and sometimes drips through

Yes to do a rear main seal the flywheel needs to be removed...
Seal should be available from Suzuki, Ripco (or other parts supplier) or any bearing shop.

fly wheel can either be peice of piss to take off or really hard if you have a compressor and can get hold of a or 3/4 inch drive rattle gun the bigger one is what you want as the little ones will not have the power to do it its easy as i brought one form super cheap $60 and takes it off easy tried the little one got no where.

Agreed. A supercheap 3/4 gun will probably be as strong as a decent 1/2 rattle gun. A proper 3/4 gun like chicago pneumatic etc, will cost closer to the $1000 mark and snap those bolts right out.

i do agree but my little rattle gun i had which is from super cheap which im guessing alot of people have unless they have a serious set up shed unlike me where i have the cheap 3/4 and the cheap 1/2" i also had alot of lock tite on mine as well.

also check you housing on you dizzy as mine was leaking and i thought it was my gear box i sealed it back up and aint seen a drop of oil since

On the contrary good sir,

I found the el cheapo supercrap auto 1/2" rattle gun to work brilliantly. Just use 10mm hose and no wucken forries.

EDIT:
Getting the gearbox in and out is a bit of a bitch.
Sometimes it goes in sweet, other times it is a total nightmare.

If you replace the rear main seal, I would suggest replacing the two seals on the gearbox aswell. Also give your clutch a real good inspection, if it needs to be replaced sometime soon, I would replace it too.
Sure spending a little more now is undesirable, but it's not a job I would like to be doing often to save a couple of dollars.
