Running 235x75R15s ... but my spare is 205x70R15. Is it worth even carrying it around? Would using it do much good? Or just cause damage.

I would rather drive on a small tyre than a flat big one or walk

use it to get you t somewhere where it can be fixed youll be fine, jsut dont use 4wd

or just go to a tyre place they usually will have a old tyre off a car that will be in ur size and might well just let u have it

i put sunnies on my wagon so if the MRS gets a flat she can drive home on it
and a new rim is only $55

Speaking of which, what's it like to drive on rims without rubber?

I know what it's like on bikes, but not cars. I guess that could be a last resort if you were stuck in the middle of no where with very badly damaged tyres.

Or you could do it like The Bush Mechanics and fill the flat tyre with spinifex then continue on your way

i was just thinking about this few days ago.. would it be better to put the smaller spare on the front than the rear so you arent making the side gears in the diff from working more? if you had to drive a fair distance.

I think there would be a bit more damage on the inside that you cant see :roll:

i have a 205 spare. Luckily i havent needed it yet. Its only for the purpose of getting me somewhere to fix the 33"...

I will have to put it on the front because of the rear locker..

Might be a pain in the arse if i have a rear flat. :lol:

i used to think having a different spare was fine, until getting a flat in a track and then not having the traction or size i needed on the back right which slid me into a hole and onto my side...

Even a second hander would be cheap.

did 600 ks with a wheel an inch in diameter smaller than the rest on the front of a patrol no probs except wanted to keep taking on road trains coming the other way hahaha.

dude even the holden space savers are the same diameter as the standard tyres hahaha.

but what do ya need a spare tyre for just get a furniture trolly ya could just put the car on it and wheel it home that way hahah

full size spare is way i reckon..but if it's something like a 31" or so it is harder to mount as you'll need something custom to hold it as the stock door will just fall off if you use that.

that is where my question comes in what would be the biggest size tyre you would bolt onto your back door on the stock carrier

i run a 30 on my back door and 32's on the zook.. i have driven home on 30's b4.. not a big diffrence imo

ok awesome well im only looking at getting 30"S to 31"S for my coily so it even if i get 31"s a 30 wont be to much different
