hey everyone,

i got a few more questions.

i hit a pretty big bump on a trip at xmas time and since then the jimny has been pulling to the left. i went to get the wheel alignment done and they said it was the camber on the front right tyre that is causing it to pull.

its at -1.5 degrees. i then spoke to some suspension people and they said something must be bent and you cant adjust the camber on a jimny. he said they wont be able to tell whats bent and will have to replace everything in the front right side.

that sounds bloody expensive.

is there a way for me to find out what part is bent so i can narrow down what needs to be replaced. i have had a good look under there but cant see anything outa the ordinary.

also i am going to order my lift kit at the start of next week.

i have been getting quotes for TD, OME and 1 dobinsons. all 40mm lifts.

which one do you think would be the best??

I've got the OME kit installed in my 2008 Jimny a couple of days before Xmas and it's been fine.

The ride felt a little wobbly after getting it done but after a while you get used to it.

I want to do a number of things to the jimny, so i thought i would ask you guys how easy these things are, if there are any tips or things to watch out for and if i need any special tools.

things to do:

change engine belts (they're cracked)
change oils: xfer case, diffs, transmission.
radiator flush, new coolant
change the clutch
change brake pads

thats all i can think of for now,

i am not very mechanically minded so do you guys reckon i should just get a mechanic to do it for me.

any help appreciated. cheers in advance

everything exepct the clutch isnt very hard. if your keen to have a go get yourself a workshop manual and have ago. just make sure u got enuf tools to do the job. you dont need anything special just a few spanners and sockets ect.

only thing to rember with your drivline oils is to take the filler plug out BEFORE the drain plug, casue if u drain the oil and cant get the filler open well ur up shit creek.

get the manual and see how you go, i wouldnt do the clutch they are a pain if you dont know what your doing.

just did the clutch on my jimny. it was a real pain!
the middle cross-member gets in the way allot and getting the gear box in and out is really hard. if you do it yourself i would suggest just sliding the gear box forward and changing the clutch with the gap.

i really wish i never took the gear box out. many harsh words were said trying to get the gear box back in.

i have a ome lift kit and i'm really happy with it. i thought it wobbled less with the ome kit. (my shocks may have been stuffed)

Dude, you might have more luck if you don't post it in a thread from over 2 years ago, go to the "suzuki talk" forum and click "new topic" start your own topic about it with a heading related to your problem.
