Hey guys, me again...

I am going to replace the door linings, probably with alloy chequerplate but I wanted to hear of other options or problems, tips etc...

I can get the 2 doors, 2 rear panels and tailgate done for $200, is that a good price? I think it is about 3mm sheet...

Also, are the two doors identical? I only have one decent lining to use as a template...

What is the best way to fix the alloy sheet to the door? Screws, rivetts?

Thanks again!

They will be the same cutout as the doorskin I give the dude to copy. It is a skin to suit a 92 sierra... tell u what - Ill get mine done first, then if they are ok, Ill get you a set done.

when will you be doing it, as there might be two orders here down the track a little, mine is a 82 the other is a 85 i think they are the same skins though both of ours are lwb's so the backs will be longer.

If you can send me a cardboard template, I can probably get them cut out...

All I can go on (and the metal dude) is the template I have.

If it is right, then the alloy lining will be right.

I have a good door skin, and he can cut them to match exactly, incl all the cutouts...

If you can trace the rear skins onto cardboard and mail them, that would be better...

sorry to keep you hanging do you have any idea how much it would be to send up here, because with two cars worth postage may creep it up making it cheaper to find someone here, i'm going to do some ringing around this week, and see what i come up with price wise here.
At $200 its cheap cant argue with that there would be close to a hole sheet per car, shorely, and a sheet is around $120- $140 so at that he's charging around $70 labour I'd rather pay that, than do it myself.

I'll let you know what i come up with.

Im doing the same thing at work atm, but only to the 2 back panels and the tailgate... i can make it at work and get some leftr checker plate as well for it from there... Im not sure how im gunaix them on tho..i was thinking screws for easy removal.. + i was hoping to somhow use the area behind the back panels for some storage. i will hav to make my own template for the back right hand panel cause mine doesnt have one!

Once u have the materials its pretty easy to cut them out ect... especially if u have a template to go off!
