Is there a alternate to the rag joint. ie unijoint. if so which model do I get one from and does it bolt straight in .
Mine is a 85 drover lwb with a bl.

There is no uni joint replacement for the rag joint.. Nothing that will bolt straight in anyway.
The original rag joint is a piece of crossply tyre but JC's replacements are poly or double thickness poly for BL's.
The idea of the rag joint is to act like a uni but to tear in the event of a major collision so the steering column doesnt shishkebab you.

Do coilys have a rag joint or unit joint, i have alot of play in what i think is a uni joint, the first joint as the colum comes through the firewall?

Ok thanks for the info  will stick with the rag joint for now ( see if i can find one local) then look into Jc's spacer. Got some work to do on my ute spring too rigid shackles are straight up bl is dodgy, hmmm maybe wt diffs and ruf at the same time..
