really who would have thought that... i never said it had a 97kw at the wheels & most factory HP figures are at the flywheel
i'd hate to see how many kw a stock sierra has at the wheels.... maybe 25kw, i think they are about 47kw at the flywheel from memory?

Baleno's are 7*kw i think.
Pretty shit compared to a D16Y8 Honda motor single cam.. 1.6 = 98kw..
B16a is more..
Buzooka. Get an F20c motor with the 6sp.

That's why we don't get other people to do work on our zooks! You and everyone here would not want to pay the money and would probably whinge and bitch if you were quoted that price.
Buzooker will do what he wants and it will work out and not cost that much money, same as everyone else does.
But as he said, this has gone way off track and maybe needs to be cleaned up.

I just sold a full running 1.3 in hobart for $250, so there are motors kicking around mate. Just drop another donk in it, and play with your gearing, zooks were never intended to be fast cars, if its not your style, and want to drive quicker, sell it and buy another pulsar.
Cheers, Superduki.

But as he said, this has gone way off track and maybe needs to be cleaned up.
If he (Buzooka) has the skill, knowledge and tools to do the job, then I say go for it.
But on the other hand, people need to realise that an engine conversion is not simple. Lots of time, and in some cases materials go into the project to get it done to a proffessional finish. For example, modifying the wiring loom can take up to 2 days including chopping, testing, modding plugs, shortening or extending wires and so on. Then there are the consumable involved in this process that also cost money that people overlook when taking on a project like this in their garage.
Just because you boughta cheap little sierra doesn't mean that all the mods are going to be comparatively cheap.
Just my 2 cents.

Fatzook is 100% correct.
Hi atari4x4
I believe that Suzuki rates a J20A at 94KW, but even if it was 97KW after 13 years of use I am sure it has lost quite a few the KW's it was first released with, certainly not close to 100KW as you optimistically stated.
I don't think he can legally go 2 litres and I don't think anyone has fitted the latest 2009/2010 122KW 2.4 litre GV engine to a Sierra yet.
Yeah I am a realist no apologies.

what would u charge for this kind of conversion?
But now you're getting in to the whole other world of what other people would charge. Suzisport charge $3500 - $4000 for a 1.6efi conversion , drive in drive out?
which has nothing to do with anything.

yeah i do relise this!! all work i do is always carried out with my mate tom who is a qualifed mechanic, we do work like this on weekends for beer money!!a conversion like this GTI- sierra would be quite straight forward for us and we would even let transport know of your new engine number.
and zuk95 of corse it does.. there is a reson things like that cost so much.. they are not easy.. and realisticly i dont think bazooka should be attemtping this as it will cost him a whole lot more in the furutre, hence why i offerd

you asked for 4cyl suzuki engines with 100kw, the 2.4 has more than that!!
i think you find i said "nearly 100kw" originally, it's a whole lot closer to 100kw than proposed 47kw coming out of a band new 1.3L

2storker, serious question time...
how many KW would a well looked after 13 year old motor would lose, i have replaced the cat & muffler with a hi flow cat & muffler?
i know redbook isn't always 100% correct but thats what i used to get the 97kw...

Not a great motor setup for an offroad driven sierra. They are way to peaky despite the 1.6 block, and require aftermarket engine management to get any kind of reliable result. Oh, and the 1.3GTI head actually flows less than the 1.6 SOHC head.
Buzooka, I think you are on the right track there mate. Just keep it simple and you will enjoy it far more.
