my mate is on his p's and has brought a 180 wich i helped take the turbo off so he said i can have it cheap casue i jokingly said i would slap it on the jimny.

now my question is will the t25 be to big on a m13a?, i think it mite be slightly to laggy. but if anybody has a turbo let me know wat ur running. been looking around for swift turbo kits but most dont specify a turbo size

and yes i know all the other stuff required to turbo my car and wont be running more than 5psi casue im not cracking the motor open. also be doin the work myself so wont be to expensive.

M18 or M16 would be a better option, T25 is a bit big, it wouldn't come on till 4&1/2 if at all.

his 180 is ca18det but the turbo is off an sr20det so its a stando t25g, assume its of a red top.

yea im thinking it mite be a bit big. if i had the money i would put a t04z on my aristo and take the smaller ct12 of that

Would be too big for a 1.3 IMHO a ct12 or similar would be far better and would spool faster

Got the compressor map for it? Some simple calculations will tell you how it will go on the 1300.

went and seen my mechanic today and he reckons it will be to big as well i did find a couple of random forums with ppl running a t25 on a 1.3lt engine but didnt really provide any info about how it spooled ect. still keen on forced induction so mite have to dig up a ct12 or somthing

Mate's GF used to have a Swift Gti with a standard WRX turbo, I'm assuming it was a TD04 but didn't look at the housing too closely. It was a very similar size to a T25 and spooled at just under 4000rpm with full boost by 4250rpm. Personally I would find this acceptable given a standard Jimny's half decent reduction gears but prob depends on driving style.

Let's be honest - they only seem to like over 4k anyhow.

I'd be looking at a CT9 or CT12 Personally. I've had a few GT Starlets, and full boost on them hits @ 2900rpm, i'd be thinkin it would be similar on a Jimny as there both 1.3. If you do do it make sure to post pics!

PS, a T04 on a Aristo would be mad, I had a HKS3037 on my Soarer, easy 300rwkw!

I think the standard WRX turbo is the IHI VF30. It is a non ball bearing unit. Its slightly bigger brother VF34 is a ball bearing unit and although it is slightly larger it still spools 500rpm earlier than the VF30.

I Have a new VF34 here, and WAS going to put it on my 1.6 16v, but have all but decided against it. My ute runs the same motor, and its QUITE quick. With the lower diff gears going in next week it will be even quicker.

Perhaps you should look into fitting a larger motor (M16, M18) first. Then if you aren't happy, the T25 will be a better match.

yea i did a bit more research and figured that the ct9 off a starlet would be good as its a 1.3 as well.

still undecided about a turbo, see wat happens down the track.

Methinks the TD04's were still standard on rexxies until well into MY06 and the VF series were reserved for Sti upgrades. Incidentally, early evo's and all mitsit rvr's also run TD04's, while later lancers went to TD05. Can't help but think that T25 would be a decent addition, reckon you could please give me a yell if you want to ditch the huffer?

my mates gti is now running a t28 as the 25 was not big enough for big power, the t25 was on tune at around 3000rpm.. i think a t25 would be good, when i get around to straping a hairdryer to my g13b thats what i will be running

Gee 75 kw at all fours on a 1.3 with a non-intercooled turbo running thru a weber thats doin quite well. Specs on the engine and driveline ie tyre size on dyno run.
Best I got outta my old 1.3 with weber and a few bits was 45kw running on 235 muddies.

Couldn't you have clocked the turbo a bit to the drivers side with a high mount manifold and just run the intake straight to the carby hat? It would have eliminated 2 foot of pipe!!

Dan, I always had a feeling that the place I got it done had an "optimistic" dyno and they said if I ran it a little richer I'd get more power... Last car I got done there had 270kw and the bloke that bought it off me said all he could get was 235. I was shocked when it pulled 75 (74.6) as I was expecting mid 40's.

Engine rebuilt stock, 10psi although doing water injection now so more boost after that, stock drive as far as I am aware and now running 31's.
