G/day all
I have fitted 30/9.50 tires to my Vitara..(soft top)
I have mounted the same size tire to my rear door...its seems to move/flex about a bit..

Has anyone, or can you strenghten the rear tire bracket internally so the weight is distributed between both the inside/outside skins..

Is there any other mods that can be done to strenghten the rear door..Hinges / tire mount...

I've had mine strengthened. It now holds a 31x10.5 no worries at all. I cracked the first door everywhere, so now it has a replacement with internal bracing to distribute the load across the whole door. It is just box section steel inside the door, however you must first cut some of the original sheet metal (inner) to get to the right spots to weld.

I can't take a picture of it, because with everything welded back up, you can't see anything! But, this is a good way to go if you dont want to have a swing away tire carrier.
