just got back up to darwin last month from completing a course in perth for 3months where i got myself a 1.6 to put in the LWB but just got told that i have to go to sydney for another 3 months for another course which means ill have to put of swaping engines out till i get back. just want to know what you all reckonmend to use to stop the engine for seizing?if any.cheers.

It shouldn't sieze just sitting there. If you're worried about the bores getting surface rust (in the humidity up there it's possible) squirt some oil into the bores and turn it over to distribute.

cheap shit oil is perfect for it and is exactly how the original engine from my mini will be stored
if you are able to get somebody to turn the engine by hand no and then then a squirt of oil into teh plug holes is plenty

haha baz maby u shouldnt comment if u dont know what your talking about??
i would realy put it 90" from tdc, fill all boars with oil and fill to the top, replace plugs and oil filler cap.. 100% safe

As mentioned before, fill it to the brim with oil. This is how a mate stores his LTD and Landau when theyre not going to be used for a long time, also put it on wheelstands if you can so tyres are off the ground, or at least park it so all tyres are on planks of wood.

Just remember when you go to use the engine to reset valve clearances and allow plenty of time for the oil to drain from the combustion chambers.
Also, although Royce recommended any cheap oil, I'd use Chainsaw Bar Oil or Motorbike Chain Oil. It's got a great stickyness to it and won't run off after long periods. Put the engine on an engine stand and rotate it 360deg a couple of times to get complete coverage.

fill it to the top,then put in the lwb and hook her up and run it,still full

1.Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes.
2.Stir for 30 seconds.
3.Strain into a chilled engine block via each plug hole.
4.Add a dash of orange or Angostura bitters if desired
5.Garnish with the olive or lemon twist.

6mths is not long... just squirt some oil in and wrap an oily rag over any openings to the air.
