Hi All,

It is my understanding that a WT diff has a different track width compared to a coily?? So my question is can a pair of WT diffs be modded to suit a coily. My reasoning behind it all is to get the same track width front and rear, easier to get aftermarket parts(lokkas), bearings, CV's, Moly axels etc etc.

What do people think on this matter? Any info or opinions would be greatly appriciated.

oh and i dont see much of a issue at all with coily suspention so no need to change that

WT and Coily use different offset rims, so you might find with the combination you end up with the same wheel track.

have you broken anything with your current set up? if you haven't don't bother.

you can get a locker for the rear diff of a coily and you can mod a jimny air locker to fit the front but it would be expensive. unless you plan to change the stupid suspension set up (i hate the struts) it would be alot of work just to have cromo axles and a front locker.

Nothing broken...just a thought. I would like to do something similar to what saam has done IF I do decide to get this thought off the ground. Would get rid of the stupid reverse pinion/centre set up(don't know what its called exactly)

I'm pretty sure my sunny's come from a WT anyhow, its not the wheel track that i'm really concerned with, just parts I guess

you would lose width overall in the diff?,but make it back up with a decent offset 15x8" rim.So it would still be wider than stock.Are they much stronger than a coily diff to warrant the conversion?(i dont know shyt about them )

Having a few more parts options would be handy tho

just fit some hilux diffs retaining the coils and standard chassis mounts, and stop mucking around

no need to worry about gay arse chromo axle shit then

I think if you were swapping standard for standard, then no. They won't be much stronger. But there are WAY more parts available to beaf them up than for coily diffs.

more or less. Same ratio etc. just flange pattern that changes.

No I don't have any spares at the moment, but I know where there are 3 sets of WT's sitting in storage

Don't bother Rusho... For all the effort and shitfight getting it approved you'd be much better off just selling and buying a leafy WT.
You get the diffs and transfer you want and no headaches with custom parts if you break something.

I agree, if I had a second chance I wouldn't
of bought the coily, their so much softer
than there leafy counter-parts. I'm sick of
breakin n bending crap.
