just wanting to know if a vitara efi 1600 head will bolt onto a sierra 1300 block?
I know that you can put a 1300 head and carby on a 1600 block

It will work I have seen it but as already said it needs 16v heads on the pistons. It runs but not very well. They have very little power. You would be better off puttting a GTI head on. The GTI head runs great with the heavier crank thats in the sierra blocks. It cuts down on the Revy bad side of the GTI and give you more usefull down low power.
I would be interested in the EFI head if your end up wanting to be rid of it.

sorry dave....but the gti has a heavier crank, its fully counterweighted, the sierra version is not. also putting a 16 valve vit head or a gti head on the same block will have similar power, but i'll put my money on the 16 valve single cam.


you can make it work but you are better of running 16 valve pistons and a fully counterweighted g13bb crank. but to go to that effort you might as well get a g13bb or even better a g16b.

Jimbo jones can you please put some input on this as I am full of shit and have no clue. The GTI runs better with the sierra crank. I spent quiet a bit of time talking to a few SUZI nuts and swifty people the sierra crank takes away the over reving the GTI is known for that you donw want in a 4x4 and give you a better low power band. It takes away from its on road drivability but more then makes up for it in the bush.
Jimbo has this very set up in is sierra. But once again I have no idea what I am talking about.

I call BS.

If you ran a sierra flywheel ( Which I believe is heavier than GTI) it would rev a little slower and maintain its momentum a little easier due to the greater rotational mass.

But I doubt there would be any advantage running a sierra crank in a GTI. If anything, that would make it rev harder/ free-er due to it being a lighter crank with no counterweights. So quite the opposite of what you are saying.

ok so after talking to him again. he used a sierra block with a sierra flywheel. it has the GTI head pistons and crank.
