Looking for new suspenison on my 90 model sierra.
I was thinking of getting a 2' spring lift kit for it..
Any idea's on price brands ect
I went to arb today and was quoted roughly $1000 unfitted for a full kit and $1200 Fitted..Can't think fo the brand he said but he told me he wanted to use Oztec shocks as he felt they go better.

Any help or info about this would be really good as i dnt no alot about it all.

umm not heeps hardcore jsut starting to do more 4wdin, ive been doin some hill climbs and stuff do a fair bit of beach driving..

i put cheap ironman ones in mine, worked ok once i removed the loads. still have them in rear.
others will know the better ones, on GC here u can pay 1000 for a full kit installed. think they use kingsprings.

ok.. im still learning all about them so i dont no very much.
I dont think i need super good ones but i want somthing reasonable for the cheapest price.( the standard ones on mine atm are unbeliavably sagged.)
so im not going to be real fussy ub ti still want it to last., Do u have any idea's where i can buy a cheaper kit other than the one i got quoted for is that good deal or am i getting ripped?
and i spose i could get a kit posted maby? i dont really mind if there not fitted i should be able to do it myself? mite teach me somthing. but if i can get them fitted for cheap enough i'll do that. Do u no anywhere or recomend anywhere that i would be able to buy a kit?

we talked about this ebay kit somewhere on here last week. the springs and shocks look a bit suspect to me.



$1200 sounds too much for a sierra kit, but it might have some good stuff in it, but ARB are going to charge top dollar so they can pay for thier new stores and stuff.

Suzisport or similar shops will be cheaper. I bought a King Spring lift kit from Suzisport and that was about $750 a few years ago. Some people don't like kings because they think they're too stiff, but i've found them to be very good. Once you get out and flex them up in the bush they work well, and get some soft shocks and big tyres. But maybe for a lot of road use they may be too stiff, i dunno.

Just looked at that kit, y would u say its suspect? wat is there to look for?
The price seemed to be bettter then wat i was quoted.
Do u have a link for suzisport or another place that would sell them, Yeh ive herd mostly about ome,king springs and efs. im not sure wat brand i was quoted for but he did say he wanted to use oztec shocks because he said there better quality. i supose if its good quality i dont mind paying for a little more. but i dont wanna get ripped off.

i recently got a set of 30mm springs. sold as stock height replacements. There called westralia. They are sic. Im very happy with them. A set cost ne $350. I got a set of 2nd hand tuff dog shocks. Im very impressed with the gear. Granted i have SPOA but the gear is good. Im in wa. Check out a site called www.suzistore.com.au. They ship gear around. A big fan of the springs!!!!!!

they are hell stricked with the mods. I havent had it engineered yet. Im in process of getting it all sweet for that day at the moment. with my fingers firmly crossed and my hand on the wood i haven't had trouble from the cops yet. I had a cop pull along side me at the lights and he looked at the car then just drove off. I have spoken to alot of people and the one thing i have come up with.......... people dont know much. I have had a terrible time finding places that do the engineering. I have heard of a guy who got his renigade SPOA passed. He is just finding out the name of the place for me. I also have an issue with my speedo being out now with the bigger rubber. So if ne one knows wot to do there please post.

put smaller rubber on

i think you can get some kind of converters that change the ratios to correct your speedo. Someone else might have more info.

get a gps that has speed that way you can run any tyre you like

if you know what it it is out at at 100km/hr a speedo repair mob can recalibrate it to suit

Ive done a just a few conversions over the years and never had a engineer check my speedo, and till now i never thought that was odd and I'll be suprised if he didnt like a gps thats what i plan for my 63 jeep it wont even have a speedo in the dash just a big screen telling me where to go and how quick i get there

I would imagine its not too much of a drama with street cars, but on a 4wd you are specifically getting the tyre size approved so parts of that are braking efficiency and speedo calibration

prob wont matter on the jeep but GPS isnt and accepted form of speed reading as it relies on outside sources to work

but it may matter on the jeep as it will hava 383 stroker 4sp auto and 35's
not a factory option in 1963 so the speedo will be so far out i thought i'd through it in the bin and go gps but if i'm not alowed to relay on gps I'll have to go back to the drawing board dam i was so exsited about no speedo in the dash to, i think i'll try it on for size they can always knock it back!

I was meaning that back in 63 there probably wasnt a speedo required rule so you may not need one

its good to know that you havent had a prob withthe speedo thing. It makes me feal better. all i need to know now is the head light height problem. As i said before wa is strict. I cant remember the head light height for a sierra. Do you think that it wont be a problem because im getting the hole car engineered. I think i should start another thread with all the questions.
