Ive been modifying my sierra for a couple of months. Now I want to get it engineered. I have SPOA, 32's, series 3 rockhoppers, front and rear air lockers and a reco 1.6ltr. My zook rides approx 7 1/2 inches above standard. What do i need to do to get the zook passed. My speedo is out and i have 8 inch steel rims. Has ne one done these type of mods and had there zook passed. What will my problems be and what should i know about the process. Im in WA so i already know that they are strict with mods. Ne info and past experiences would be appreciated, thanks.

go out end get an engineers Certificate the problem in vic they are normally only valid for 28 days. But if ya get pulled mover id say most cops would be cool with an expired one. Unless ya go one that was having a bad day. But it might be a whole different story in WA. Im just going by what the blokes on the Skyline forums say.

A Roadworthy Certificate IS NOT an Engineered Ceritificate. If you want to know what is required ring an Engineer and have a chat. Every State is different and each Engineer has their own way of wanting things done too

I will do that. Just see what they say what they want done etc etc. i dont think that the 28 day cert is a good idea here in wa most cops arent freindly and just want a reason to pick on ya. thank guys keep post with ne info

even just get on like the skyline or nissan silvia web site and search for good engineers in WA. They are both massive forums and they are always asking about that kinda stuff.

Don't know about W.A. , but in new south wales I had to get a ratio box and new speedo cable fitted. This cost $750.00 and now it's perfect. AS for engineering your tyres won't be a problem unless you have offset rims , as this widens the wheel track , in N.S.W. you are only allowed one inch over standard. Was your springover done professionally or by you , just reguarding welding and pinion angles as the front kingpins should have a 4 degree recline to the rear to enable correct steering geometry. While where talking front end what did you do with your steering arm as you can't weld steering components unless they are X-rayed or threaded. Those Z type steering arms , most engineers won't touch them. The rear diff if your running 7.5 inches lift would have to be rotated to correct the pinion angle to enable the tailshaft to not bind . Also when doing a spring over you going to need a tractrion bar to stop excessive axle rap in the rear , I went wheelin with a SPOA car on saturday and he had over 4 inches of axle rap. I would just go down to a engineer that does 4wd modifications , Don't take your car and sound him out , tell him what you want to do , take a list and if you have other mod's like rollbar , seats ask him as well. In N.S.W. front sections of rollbars are no longer legal so also ask him about that. The locker's and gears don't need to be engineered and I would not tell him unless he asks specifically about them. You only give them the info you want them to have. Also it makes a big difference if youf car is tidy and neatly detailed , because if it looks like a bucket of shit he will treat it like so , so give it a degrease and paint up the undercarriage , with flat black , but don't go berzurk and just spray every thing do a neat job. My engineering certificate cost $800.00 and that affected just about every ADR on the compliance plate , Cheers Paul.

no chance without lots of $$ and at least a lane change test. i beleve u are allowed 4" or 6" , max lift inc the tyres.
