the zook was showing signs of a blown head gasket between watter gallerys and combustion chamber so i changed that, not the issue, turns out it was the cold air valve on the side of the intake manifold? leaking watter in2 the intake when the cooling system presurised! so that is fixed (buypassed for now, its locked shut anyways? or should it be open? am i missing out on power here?)

the issue i am haveing atm is that it is running out of fuel.. or feels like it...
basicly it is fine running though town with a quick dab on the throttle every now and again, BUT if you drive on the highway or say Punch it hard of the lights it dies.. not compleetly but does loose around 75% of its power.. back off or stop for a few secons and it is right to go again...

so i am thinking fuel pump or fuel presuer regulator..

it is running a STOCK mk1 gti fuel pump mounted in the sierra tank and a flexable hose from the tank to the motor.. and it has no fuel fillter in it atm as i am just getting her going.. (yep i know stupid me)

it is also missing under load but i am thinking that is just simply a fked plug or something from all the water it has been drinking!

all help is apreciated..

thanks

shitty fuel pump or reg. having the bypass blocked off will only stop it from idiling higher when it's cold

also check your plugs, leads or AFM.

Any one of these can do it, but most probably it's a shitty fuel pump or bad pump wiring

lol wtf??

ok i just blocked off the Fuel presure reg... still does it.. but buy christ it go's hard lol... prob a extra 5-10kw's it also reved out heeps harder..

this is telling me the stock fuel pump is dieing.. and it hasnt been able to keep up for quite some time! hence it not likeing to rev hard...

pulled pump out and all looks nice and clean etc... so its time for a new pump :(

have found a rb20det fuel pump.. apparently it looks nealy identical.. but for $25 i am going to wack it in and see what happens..

i would go to the VL pump route But i have modded the pick up for in tank so i might as well stick with it!

can you give me any more info on this mod. trying to sort out fuel for my 13b conversion and coily tanks are rare here in NZ, but would still like to use a swimmer pump instead of an external
