bearing noise

hey guys
i have a bearing type noise in all my gears its like a loud whine its not my gear box i have just replaced it and it shouldnt be my transfer case i had that rebuild 18 months ago but i did get some water in there. So i just want to no what you guys think the noise could be.
any help would be great

You say you got water in the gear box, so the vehicle has been in some deep water then.
Now that noise could be front/rear wheel bearing, have you checked the oil in the front and rear diffs for water.
Brakes all you can do is ti try and isolate the noise as to where it is coming from my first thought would be the front wheel bearings.

okay thanks i got water in the front diff but it does it when i am in 2 wheel drive so i didnt think it would be that i mit check the wheel bearings tomorow thanks

Does it change with speed or load. IE if you go around a left hander does it get louder or change pitch etc?

Could be try give ya front wheels a wobble if they feel loose ya spot on :wink:

it doesnt change noises around corners n i hav bhecked my front wheel bearings the noise does stop when i am not acelorating

also check uni joints on the short jackshaft between g/box and t-case.
Check g/box and t-case are full of clean oil, bearings get noisy when they are running dry especially if you got salty water in there

put your transfer case in neutral and then start the car and run it through the gears.
chances are if there is no noise it is wheel bearings.
