Im trying to work out the fuel economy of my zook. Its running a Baleno 1.6i, so im thinkin if i maybe compare it to a LWB EFI Vitara then it should be about the same or maybe a little more. Anyone have any ideas?

well how i go about my economy is to run from a full tank and reset the trip meter, and then fill up again from empty and do the litres that it took to refill (eg 27) divided by the kilometers (eg 375) then times by 100

27 / 375 X 100 = 7.2L per 100 k

really pretty easy hey. well if you want ref my swb vit carby with 30x 9.5 muddies manual but with difs from an early 3spd auto im getting about 10L per 100k for inner city driving, ive got out a bit more recently but i have broken my speedo cable at the mo, and i have about 350,000km on the clock

Hmm, if your speedo doesn't work, then is there any point in knowing how many K's you'll get to a tank? If you have some figure like 250Km, 300Km or 400Km to a tankful, how will you know when you've reached that distance, or how mugh longer until you run out??

A thing with any 4wd trip with anything but highway driving is that your fuel economy will be worse than usual anyway, and a Simpson trip will be particularly bad. The almost constant driving in soft sand in 2nd and 3rd gear 4wd with a carload of stuff will see you getting as much as 40% worse economy than on a highway run. Buy a larger tank and plan to fill-up as often as possible.
