i have had a change of plans for my ute build instead of coils im looking into leafs due to time limits. i know for the rear ill have to stick spring pads on and move the rear shackle mount back a little bit due to the length of the t50 gear box which has pushed the transfer back. For the front i know it would be easier to start with a lux front and use a conversion kit from

since mine is an nt would this work, or would i have to change the front spring spacing to wt?

are their any problems with using a front bundy diff, besides time on a grinder?

will a bundy centre fit in the lux housing?

I once had someone tell me that you cannot use Hilux heavy duty shafts in a Bundy front (for the life of me I don't know why?). If that's true, it would be the only major bum with using a Bundy front I would say.

that is correct, i almost found that out the hard way.
initally i started building a coiled bundy front for my car with the intentions of fitting my hilux longfields.
the sexy look og the longs got the better of me and i had to slot them in the housing, much to my surprise they didnt fit..
both long and short side axles are different from bundy to lux, altho i think they are the same width...

SO in saying that. i wonder if that difference is a good think for mounting a leaf spring pad clearence. i guess if i think of it i could check the bundy housing i got round the side..
but i do have a bear lux housing i could sell that was set up NT.

I never new the axles were different between the lux and bundy. If the centres are interchangeable why aren't the axles?

This is not completely correct, the hilux is interchangeable front to rear and the bundy rear is also the same, but the bundy front is reverse rotation (hi pinion).
