Spooky is back on the road following an engine rebuild. Heater wasn't working when I got the car so whilst the engine was out I stuck the garden hose up the heater hose to flush the core. No problems with water flow and heater tap operation so I assumed it might have been engine plumbing. The rebuilt engine is back in but the heater still refuses to get warm. Heater fan works fine. Anyone have any ideas???

My heater pumps, only on demist or floor. Dash vents let more cold air through.

Yes I know. Like most old cars.

I don't have a problem with how the heater performs. I always leave it on the floor and roll the back up. Keep the whole car toasty hot.

And you have a hardtop...

My heater works well once all the floor holes are sealed with tape.(Softop)
No carpet either. Only rubber mats.

I used to drive along wondering where the cold air is coming from. Through doors, floor, window its now sealed fairly good. Side doors have 4mm foam down where the door seal runs..cos i got cold ears and wtf!

Thanks guys. Didn't think to try different heater settings.

I seem to recall something about burning feet and frost bitten noses from my first sierra but that was long ago in the early eighties. You had to lift the bonnet to select the heater because the cable would jam.
