okay, i have a roller w/t shell that is gutted, my mate has a sr20det with about 260bhp and 5spd in the shed. Can we stuff some decent suspension under the car and go fully sic sideways on the bitumen or will it just tip over. Initially i was thinking lowering blocks, mid mount motor, offset rims and wheel spacers just to see if the balance would work with such a short w/b and then move to coilovers if it works well enough.
Just toying with the idea as all the stuff is just sitting there atm.

look for old springs and use lowering blocks.. should be pretty low.

funny i was just thinking of the same idea today. i wasn't sure if you could lower a zook enough. be good to see how this turns out for you something different anyway. and with an sr20 in it i reckon it be a bit of a head turner.

Best way to get a Zook REALLY low would be cut the body and channel it over the chassis so the chassis is sticking up through the floor... Will lower the car 125mm without touching springs.... Then you could get standard spring remade with inverted eyes and raise the bumpstops... Low low low.

thats all well and good but i kind of need to eliminate body roll and stiffen it up a bit as well as bypassing axle tramp all together if it can be helped.

the few sierras i have seen around lowered have looked the goods and are definately different.

my stock coily wen i had it handled good enough i thought so im sure something can be made to work.Get springs reset like minitrucks do and play with there stiffness,good shocks,decent sway bar setup??i dunno just guessing here

would be easy to lower with teh right springs, getting camber in the front would be harder though

btw, the rear of an Urvan box apparently bolts up to a silvia box and makes it pretty short and easier to fit

i had mine lowered for a while years ago with 3 inche blocks on standard leafs but it rode on the bump stops an was really ruff but was really good fun round roundabouts. it also did wheelies of speed humps

why not a lwb vit, it already has IFS for good handleing and will lower the front heaps without having to put an axle housing through motor, it set up for 1600 so the rear diff will prob's be tougher (i could be wrong).

my next build will be a power house

4agze with button supercharger,
80series rear axle cut down to size, triangulated 4-link
Vit IFS front end
not sure about bags or to go race coilovers
with a shaved sierra lwb body, and a notched sierra lwb chassis

Just put some sway bars on it from a larger vehicle , it will be solid as , don't take any leaves out , with that much hp , the first time you bag it up the spring will pobably bend , tilt the diff and snap your uni , hint , hint , Cheers Paul.
