Hi guys, I got my self a 90 jx vitara and having massive issues trying to find a starter motor for it from the wreckers. Just woundering if starters would fit out of any other suzuki's. eg. 90 model swift.

Any help would be great thanks

think ive seen them on ebay for bugger all money considering what ya getting mate.dunno what you want to spend tho and sorry i cant help with other models

I had to buy a new one for my old 89 Vit, when i had it... They are $220 new, and from memory, they are the same ones that fit the Baleno/Barina/Swift, and even a holden 6 cyl... they are nearly twice the size of the standard Vit ones, well the one i got from Auto One was, but they sure start the engine quick ! :wink:

But you can get them without postage from an auto parts store...

And just as a matter of interest, are you sure its the starter motor ?
The Sierra had a well known, clicky starter problem, and some Vits, like mine, inherited it to, it turns out its not the starter motor at all, but the plug in cable that goes from the key, to the firewall, they open circuit under load... :wink: :lol:

no they are not the same.

get anything from a 4 cylinder vitara or sierra.
