have taken them out and replaced them with a flat board.
need to now get rid of the stupid bolts that stick out from each side.

anyone know if they are welded or bolted in???

i removed mine as well loked at the bolt and was like hmm if i take it out i can put them back in if i want. i just left it she be right. just need to make up a board and put my tool box in.

I wouldn't cut em...I have just left mine there - may be a different story when I put storage drawers in though.

Id leave them, if you ever decide to sell the car a 4 seater is probably going to be a lot more appealing than a 2 seater.

could you take off the spot welds on the bracket the bolt is welded to? that way if you need to go back to 4 seats you can re-weld the whole bracket on...

I left mine on and used them to bolt some metal loops there to help secure loads.

If you want to cut them off make some kind of jig or pattern before you do, so you can weld them back on in the same place should you want to reverse the process.
