like it says above i want to cut a hole in the firwall and run the water from the engine to the radiator inlet and then prolly from the radiator outlet to the engine inlet through the cabin of a sierra ute.
reason for this is i have a 2000 model baleno motor and the water outlet on the motor with the thermostat and temp sensor comes out of the back of the motor anr wont fit unless i cut a hole in the firewall.
also was thinking of putting a big radiator on the tray to get it up and out of the mud and shit.
so what does you all think? is there anything i have missed that may make this dangerous? i was thinking of putting a shroud over the pipes to protect against hot water pissing all over ocupants in the event of a rupture.
what sort of temp increase in the cabin would i expect from the heat transfered from the pipes to atmosphere?

there is ways you can modify the housing tofit not sure if its the same as a gti motor but they can run a sigma thermostat housing or cut and weld the one u got ... but i wouldnt want to run em thru the cabin even if u do put shrouds over em if they rupture there is still gunna be hot coolant all over the place if it were my car i would run rm under they car get an exhaust shop to bend up some pipes to go front the rad to the engine and just have a frexie hose at each end .. but thats just my 2 cents ...

cutting the firewall at all makes your car illegal. Personally i think its a drastic solution for a simple problem.

I spent some time in a patrol yesterday that had the cold lines (so only from the radiator back to the engine) for the radiator and intercooler in the cab and even idling and cold it was damn hot inside

x2 thats how the buggy guys do it.
And ninjadaniel I dont think legalities are an issue

If that is the case and a torana one will fit you should be able to use any 6 cyl holden housing from 1964 to 1985, red, blue or black holden six are all basicly the same.

I seen a water hose fail in a car with a rear mounted radiator. It was two pipes through the passenger floor encased in another pipe which had been cut done the side to allow it to slip over the two pipes. This was the nmounted with the slot down hard up against the tunnel.
The hoses blew right next to the passenger fleg and blew down to the floor and then being water heated to about 1oo degrees it rapidily expanded to steam completly filling the passenger foot well with steam and causing third degree burns to the passenegr leg.
Yes they used inferior pipe for the radiator pipes but it still blew right where you didn't want it too.
Your car your choice but their is room in the tunnel UNDER the car
