What are the options? Cut and shut?

I fitted a 2" bodylift to my trayback and even with the 1" steering shaft spacer that came with the kit, the shaft is still too short. With the spacer and a rag joint, I am still about 25mm off.

I was thinking of just fitting another rag joint, but was wondering what everyone else were doing?

Don't understand why the 20mm spacer is still too short? Did you get the bodylift kit from Just_cruizin?

The spacer should be thick enough...nindidnt realise it was a spacer I thought it was a replacement rag joint that was thicker

I am running the new thicker rag joint on mine and that is all.

How much do you have at either end on the spline?? Had to do one once by moving it on the spline.

Yes tintip, my bad choice of wording there. It is a replacement rag joint.

It's a NT 1L cab and chassis with virtually everything swapped from a 1.3L (including steering column and lower shaft as well as steering box), so my guess is this is why the spacer isn't big enough - differences in chassis/firewall steering mounts.

SFA - I need about 25mm, which I can't get from the spline at either end.

use the spacer that came in the kit along with the standard spacer.

he was mate.. still 25mm short.


dont know what is going on mate... it sounds a little weird to be that short.

was there a problem before the body lift?


we got about 25mm out of the splines when undone and redone up..

As mentioned in my build thread, I made up a new lower shaft the other day - moved the rag joint up, fitted a second uni and is now all good.
