My sierra is well overdue for new tires and i was going to wait till i had lifted it so i can fit 31s but money, like always, isn't there when i need it. Apart from extended shackles its completely standard

I just what to know what size and brand other people have used.

dunno about SA but in WA theres a few places that sell 2nd hand tyres - nothing too extreme, but its a super cheap option that will tide u over till you have the $$$ for a lift.

I did this on mine, replacing the rears with a different brand which i drove on for abou 6 months before undertaking the lift its got now... from memory the 215/75 goodyears i got were about $50ea fitted and balanced... and they had about 80% tread on them.

Your not going to get much bigger than a 235 tyre on there without any mods

I ran 235s with 2 inch spring lift for one trip and the next day I was looking at body lifts and a new bumper...

235s + stock Sierra = much rubbing...

If you can get them 215r15 are the same hieght as 235's but thinner. I had these on when mine was still completely stock, no rubbing anywhere.

when my car was STD i only had rubbing on full lock but with a bigger off set it wont rub at all
the rubbing wasnt much to worry about tho

My 235s rubbed on the bumper quite badly when the springs were compressed....

Nothing a grinder can't fix though

I had 235/75R15 MTRs on 15x7" Sunnys (-15 offset??) squeezed under for a fair while without a body lift - just needed the bumper bar bracket trimmed and the seams whacked flat. Wasn't ideal though as I still had some nasty rubbing on the driver's front when compressed and turned - cut the edge of that tyre up pretty bad.

Stock gearing with 235/75R15 was okay onroad but at the limit offroad - 1st Low just wasn't low enough. So then you start cooking your clutch offroad.

A lot more work for 31's though. I've done 2" body lift, new bullbar (had to cut off the chassis outriggers), RUF, new shocks and 6.5 gearing to run them. Still need to do transfer lift so the body lift doesn't keep knocking the transfer lever out of 4WD Low position, Roctoy mount to stop the 31's and 6.5's tearing my transfer case apart, driveshaft spacers due to the RUF and new flares/mudflaps.....

I am thinking about putting some BFGoodrich Mudterrain T/A km2 (215/75) on my standard sierra (no lift). Has anyone used this tyre before? Do they rub or cause any problems?

i only have 2 inch extended shackles and im running 31"s im about to do ruff and then extend my bump stops as i really dont want to or have the coin for a body lift and really dont want to go over the pits

when i got my car it had standard suspension with 215r15's no rubbing.
then 215 75 15 kelly safari awr's.
i couldn't go past the price 4x at $12.50 ea.
with 75% tread ebay .
still no rubbing but the spare cost $65 with 100% tread ebay
ive found the 215 75's to be a good size with stock gearing.
but i would like longer legs or another cog in the box
