hey hey.
i've got myself a stock standard 95 sierra.
i' after some pointers on what suspension i should be putting under her.
i've come across a kit on superiorengineering.com.au was wanting to know if its a good thing or should i steer clear. heres the link

what size tyres do you think i could run under there also? i was thinking maybe 33's?

dan welcome to az matey. do yourself a favour and hang around here for a few weeks and ask some questions in this thread you got started before you rush out and buy a lift kit. there are heaps of other cheaper options. RUF,carry springs commo shocks etc. also have a look in the build ups threads for info

i have been digging through builds from other people. soooooo much different info. i dunno where to start. figured suspension and wheels would be a good one.
was just going to get a kit as i didnt want to order what i thought i needed, then find i'd ordered bits that don't match up together, or not ordered enough to get the job done.

there plenty of questions i'll have to ask. no doubt.

You'll need much much more than a 2 inch spring lift if you wanna run 33's...

I have 2 inch springs and 29's and I get some rubbing. If you wanna run 33s you'll need some combination of body lift, SPOA and bumpstop extensions, not to mention probably some work with a grinder to remove excess bodywork...

hmmm, you may have just talked me out of it then. i dont reallly want to do any cutting or grinding of the body unless i absolutly have to.
i like the look you've got with your zook Ben_Sierra. i just want to go a little bit bigger than that.
thats why i thought that 3inch lift kit would be the go????
plus a body lift???

Knew a bloke who ran 3" springs, were only about a true 2" lift...

I'm in the same boat as you, I've done alot of research over the last few months and i think, if you want to run 33" affordably, then check out rocky-road.com

They have SPOA kits there, will cost nearly $1000 less then most complete 3" lift kits and you'll get about 5" lift from it... it will also greatly increase the articulation of your car and you'll be able to fit 33's (to my understanding) with minor work BUT! (theres always a but) nothing is a straight forward as putting it on and going... if your going to run 33's then your going to need reduction gears unless you like bent axels and doing 40Km hour down the hwy. So allow yourself anywhere from 600 to 1200 bucks for that, as well as that you'll have to get traction bars and so fourth to account for the articulation you get with SPOA or you'll start getting bump steer and spring wrap...

I think you should do alot more research because, unfortunately, as i've learned over the last few months, modding up your sierra isnt a slap it on away you go sort of thing... if you want to do big things with it, be prepared to spend ALOT of money. haha.

2" spring,
1" bumpstop extensions,
2" body lift,
RUF,
Mild front guard trimming.

Bear in mind in the photo in my avatar I'm only running 27's and no body lift...

It's bigger now...

33s are a pretty big tyre for a Sierra. It will require some work to fit them.

It will require some work to engineer them if you wanna run the on the road...

And you will need gearing as well as lift to run them if you wanna go anywhere...

This is basically how I will run my set up to as I think SPOA is way too high for side slopes etc.. if you ask me. Lower the better

Hey Dan, Start with 2" Spring lift & 2" Body lift with 30-31" tyres and maybe extended bump stops and then drive that and you will work out what it needs from there. The More you drive it the more you will know what else needs doing. Just my 2c Cheers Robb.
