ok i am very soon rebuilding nearly all of my drive line adding gears etc, and am going to replace the clutch whilst i am at it!

is it worth it to replace it with a heavy duty one?

since i am already running more power than the standard one is designed for i was looking at this

its about 120aud more than than a standard clutch!

I was going to put a HD clutch into my old 89 Vit, but Suzistore said only do it if you really need it, as the HD clutch has a tendency to stick, and not let go when hot... but i guess it depends on make...

I would imagine if you're getting gearing, a HD clutch wouldn't be a necessity.

my thought is a standard clutch is built for the single cam carbi 1.3, where i am already running the gti motor so 2/3's more power again!

yeah i am going gearing aswell, basicly this is my order atm!



i just want to do everything in one hit!

can't help with the clutch but you might get hit with some taxes ordering all that in one hit.

Hi,

I bought a custom Clutch kit from NPC (Nick's performance Clutches) in Brisbane and it is awesome Exedy Clutch plate and his custom pressure plate that has huge clamping pressure but a really light pedal making it tops to drive, also got the Flywheel machined a spigot bearing as well as a throw out bearing all for $300 cash.

Also only my opinion but I don't think Sierra's need the coupler type Lockrite they work good as with the Std side gears installed.

yeah mika i dont know how much before we get a tax but there is about 1k more to be added (joint order with a mate building his suzuki) we will see!

ah fair enough with the clutch i might scrach that off the list and put a exedy pink bits on it!

i thought the coupler was stonger? if not i will just get the one without! all cheeper for me

If you talk to Sean at Low Range he might break it up and send it in sub $900 lots this way you avoid the Stamp duty and GST and Import Tax just a thought.
When we order we try and make order for around $900 and it goes through OK.

Also the Pink bits Exedy is a good clutch but is really heavy on the pedal.

Be wary of that as they do keep eye on broken up orders and then questions do get asked. but if there is a couple of days or so between then it works out ok.

ok sweet postage will be the killer i am thinking!

is it true to call them and they give u a much better quote on postage?

haveing never bought anything like this from the states its a big thing!

when I order I email him and get quotes then he tells me to place the order and he catches it and modifies it to reflect his quote.

you really shouldnt need a HD clutch once you have gears as the stress on the cluch will be greatly reduced by the gears.
mines still got the original shitter and she has 180,000km

yeah thanks mate! it needs replacing so i guess i will just decide when it comes to the time! and what is avalable! i am just a tad worried with the extra power
