This weekend while driving my Coily I've accidentally dented in one of my flares in. I've just recently got 235/75/15 Dulers put on it and the front wheels have been getting scrubbing on the flares anyway. I'm looking at GETTING A LIFT, but also getting new flares. I've been reading that Bushwacker Wrangler flares fit on the Sierras. I'm hoping that you guys can help me here, I'm new!

Welcome to AZ matey bushwacker flares will fit on but are really costly once you have your lift you should have no rubbing problems

Haha i noticed your user name and clicked i used to ride dirt bikes with Michael i drove past your house the other day and seen ya put new tyres on ya zook it looks cool man

Haha it's a small world isn't it. Well since you have a Suzuki and I'm always keen for four wheel driving next time you go out just give me a message.

I'm thinking about getting the bushwhacker flares because they look better than a bit of rubber hanging from underneath the flares. Plus I want to get rid of the damage and make my zuki look that bit tougher. Any other suggestions on wheel flares?

I'm getting a 2" suspension lift on my coils in a few weeks, so scrubbing isn't going to be an issue soon. It's more the reason I want to get rid of the stock flares..

Another option would be tj jeep wangler flares but they look best if ya use the rears all round if ya know what i mean

Yeah I've seen that a few people are going up there, I was there this last Saturday.

I'm really keen on going on the Anzac weekend, I will make an appearance if I fix my scrubbing, it's tearing the thread of the NEW tires. Cheers for the help, hopefully I will see you there!

Yeah that'd be good just for an opinion on what to do, I don't usually get home from work until like 6 though. I've seen some rubber flare kits at Auto one but they are only 65mm wide, hardly worth buying for a long term solution.

I'm actually considering these now, not having to chop any plastic from the flair for them to fit. I only really need one pair for the front. Cheers mate

Hey Lockie are ya sure they are rubbing on the flairs and not on the front bumper outriggers or on the inside of the wheel arch at the firewall????

It's the flares, when the tire is full locked and the shockies at the front are fully decompressed the tire catches on the lip of the flare, they have a rim on the inside of them where the metal has been crimped. My tires cause it to bend and make a sharp edge and chop off lugs from my tire.

Even if I cut the pricks out with snips or grind them I'm worried that it will still have a sharp edge. Next time you drive past have a look Joseph, you will see on the right hand side under the wheel flair that the metal bends out and causes a sharp edge.

you need bump stop extensions all coilies do this with oversized tyres because they seem to get more uptravel than leafies. Thats my theory.
