just curious of the advantage of moving top rear shock mounts. put longer shocks in not that long ago and ive noticed a lot of people have moved mounts closer together. ????????

There is a advantage of moving the shocks together , but that is rediculously close , the shocks will do bugger all at dampening the ride , and also cause stability problems on road , yes you can move them , but it has to be justified to match the ammount of suspension travel , not just copying a cheap mod. Shock mounts suffer tremedous ammounts of force and can easily fatigue and snap , that is why lift kits are supplied with longer shocks to suit the ammount of lift. you will get minimal extra travel out of a lift kit because you still apply the same leverage to the suspension to force it to articulate. I bet more than 90 % of guys on here have either removed a leaf , swapped them out for another vehicles leaf spring , added longer springs or used longer shackles or drop shacles. A combination of either or all to make the vehicle have better travel , thus making it unstable when it conts , at high speed on the road where there are other people to hurt.

The main reason is to add larger tyres for more clearance , but what you really need is some sort of traction aid/diff lock to avoid losing forward momentum when lifting wheels off the ground when you run out of travel , there is a limit to how much flexyou really need when four wheel driving , Cheers Paul.

If you do choose to move them inbound they will need to be much stiffer to compensate for the extra leverage. A little trig will tell you how much, but at 40Deg or so it would have to be very stiff, so adjustable ones that are for a big car would be best make the ride ok.

I'm 98% sure that they're EFS. If they're not, they're Dobinsons.
