i think i am having a win with this.
the bracket thing on the pitman is cracked and there is a shitload of movement
between the dampener and the pitman so i will bodge up a new mount and
hopefully it will fix the shakes.

i took the steering dampener off and that fixed my wheel wobble
the dampener had cracked mounts that were flexing as well as flogged out bushes.

i am having another look at this as the wheel wobble is getting quite bad.

the wheel shake is just the passenger side, different tyres and rims have been tried.
just stripped the hub and while the wheel bearings aren't awesome they look pretty good considering i fitted them
before i joined AZ

the king pin bearings are like new. the only thing that looks worn is the drag link tie rod.
it isnt real bad but has about 2mm of slack, probably caused by the wheel wobble.

any ideas?

scraper seals would have to be flogged by now, they are a 5000km severe service item and dampen the hubs more than the king pin bearing tension ever could

get a spring scale, setup king pins per normal

fit scraper seals, check tension again, its heaps higher

ive been telling you lot for years to replace the fucking scraper seals, but nobody listens to the guy with the simple answer

i have a set in the shed so i will give it a go tomorrow.

today i replaced the wheel bearings and repacked the cv and king pin bearings
plus went back to stock shackles however due to the beer i drank while doing it i cant test drive it.
