Hey Daffy - thanks mate, I'll give you a buzz when I get a chance - rims sound good, and BL if everything's there would be great!
So I had it down at the mechanics for a Blue slip to transfer the rego.
The bad = shocks and struts are cactus, handbrake needed adjusting.
The not too bad = slow oil leak from rear main seal, muffler has collapsed. Cleared the ECU to isolate the 'Check Engine' light error that pops up at freeway speeds, and there may be a small leak in the power steering pump.
So my suspension plans have shot up the list, as I need to sort it to get the rego done. I've been shopping around, and the retail options are:
OME from ARB - $1600 fitted
Tough Dog from Opposite Lock - $1600 fitted ($1800 from TJM)
Ironman from 4WD1 - $880 supplied only
Calmini - US$980 supplied only
I only paid $3,000 for the car, so $1.5k+ is a bit hard to stomach. Is the IronMan stuff OK, or worth paying the extra for OME/TD? Other options are the Commo shocks and 180SX coils down back, or there are a couple of Rancho shocks going second hand which look OK, but who really knows? A member on another forum has offered me used Tough Dog stuff for the back end reasonably cheap, but new stuff up front is still nearly a grand. The front end I need new struts anyway, so should I just bite the bullet?
I've also ben looking at bars - ARB do a steel winch one for $1250, or ECB still have an alloy non-winch one for $1600 through Opposite Lock.
ARB lockers are about $1600 each end, plus $500 for the compressor (fitted) so that will have to wait while! I have found a used steel diff from a V6 hopefully.
Snorkel is going to cost $550 from ARB or Opposite Lock. I've found a second hand body, but the rest of the kit from ARB will cost $200
Rola racks $450 from ARB or more from OL.
SuziTech want $1200 for a full exhaust, extractors, 2.5" to the cat, 2" there back.
I did grab two pairs of Flexi Flares that I can chuck on sometime.
Damn this stuff gets expensive fast!!! The possible mitigator is that if I get a bunch of stuff from ARB they can move a little bit.
