yeah my simex ETs were about $270ea from memory (delivered to my door) - from ryano on outers...

From what i've read the simex and silverstones are similarly priced... except with the simex 31 you get a tyre measuring 32, and with silverstone 31s you get a 30... i'd rather pay the extra few dollars for 1" more diff clearance!

mate dont take this the wrong way but-
If highway terrain han't let you down in the mud yet, then mate you really haven't been 4wding in mud or anything like real mud.

4WD tyres are for some reason a heap more expensive in SA unfortunately!

WA is worse - a certain 4wd company here in perth quoted me $320ea for 31x10.5 Simex ETs. It was FAR cheaper to buy from ryano in QLD and have them freighted over- even though freight was $110.

try buying tyres here. 31x10.5 MTR is $465 NOT fitted.

Ryano works at Fourbies at Moorooka in Brisbane. They are pretty big into the 4x4 and comp scene. Ryano helps out a lot of guys with great pricing and suggestions for their rigs. My last 2 sets came from there.

funny thing is was it was mudd/clay real gloopy stuff i was really surprised at how well they worked

I used to surprise everyone out at paradise road with a stock 85 lux with pizza cutters and highway terrains. It used to chew the mud up. The secret had nothing to do with the the HT's being good though. It was the fact they were skinny and would go through the mud to the firm clay underneath. The blokes getting around with wider tyres were floating on top of the mud and doing it tough. When you hit deep enough mud or soft clay the HT's will just be polished donuts that don't get you anywhere lol.

^^ that and momentum plays a large part... guys with muddies will generally go slower and more controlled through the mud, while people with undersized or poor tread patterns need to rely on pure wheel speed to get them through =)

after wheeling on the weekend with other suzukis with lots of different mud tyres im gonna stick with the Silverstone Extremes. Im only rear locked and i made it up easier than twin locked zooks on the MT117 Sports and Claws and Mudzillas. All because of the Big side lugs and the self cleaning ability they have.

By far one of the best tyres about for a zook when driving in mud and clay.

B4T - i think you're 100% spot on - however the ET/117 extreme pattern sucks really bad on rock and loose rock/gravel surfaces.

I'd only recommend them to those who drive ONLY mud/clay... if you do more like 50% mud, 50% rock then the ETs do start losing out a bit i've found.

ive never really had a problem with them on rock and shale but i usually run them at 10PSI or less. They do get a bit cut up in sharp stuff but so do most tyres. The biggest down side to them is the noise/ music they make on the HWY. people hear you comming before they see you
