Hi All,

I am after an air tank for on board air. Also, if you have any bits and pieces around that would help setting up the onboard air would also be appriciated. Prefer bits in brissy.

Cheers

Rusho

I have bought two of these.. One for my Zook, the other for the Trol.

As for air tanks..... Extinguishers are certainly strong enough but are only steel and will rust quickly ..... They also only have one hole so draining them isn't easy...
Something like this is a bit dearer but is made for the job and will last a long time.

I have 2 stainless fire extinguishers at my mates place. No rust :D They come from fire supression systems in McDonalds kitchens. They need to be stainless for health reasons.

Rusho, I'll see if I can find them. They are at Charlies place.

If I get one cheap enough I will get a drain plug cut and welded into it. Should be ok??

depends on how often you use it and how much water collects in there.... down here in sa we dont have the humidity you guys get up there, so i didnt bother with a drain, even on my work compressor which gets used 40+ hours a week...flat out might be lucky if it gets drained once every 6 months

what size tank/fire extinguisher would you need to get. i have one that is just as tall as a 600ml bottle but a bit wider, is that to small and what could you run off one of these setups? i am running it off a vitara compressor if that is any help.
thanks greg

I have an small alloy fire extinguisher as an air tank in my Rodeo. Just drilled/tapped a few extra 1/4" BSPT ports in it, one on the bottom for a drain. Wall thickness was easily thick enough to do this.
