i have 5.12:1 front sitting here but it's a 22 spline & the pinon mount has cracked one of the bolts.
i've sort of got it on hold for MR1JZ but i'm not sure if he can use it with his rear autolocker in his sierra.
i'll send him a PM to see if he still wants/needs it, if he doesn't want it i can pull the centre out & post it for $100 + postage.

No problem, Already on the to do list.
So tommorow I'll call up for the diff and order an air locker. When I get the lot I'll take it to a gear and diff shop to sort out for me.

Ok, I just got back with a steel diff.
I'm going to see what the diff dude will have to say about it before I grab that one off you Gus.
On another note, fuck I hate Shitney!!. Putting along a busy highway in the 3rd lane, keeping up with traffic as you do, I was doing 68 in a 70 zone. A fuckin cuntstable jumps in the middle of the road to pull me over. Turns out it's a FKN SCHOOL ZONE AYE !!! $442 and 5 points thanks. I was tempted to offer a bribe, but things arn't like what they use to be.

And just to confirm, RD88 is the part number I'm after right?

hmmm 22 spline... i would upgrade to the 26 spline air locker & grab a couple new CV's you will also need the passenger side axle that goes in the diff housing.

hmm well I had thought about that, I know that having equal length driveshafts is a better option, just that there's slight issues with mounting points right? As long as I don't have to bash the sump in, I'm easy. I'm going to need at least new CV boots anyways.
I just had some bloody fantastic news just now !! I start fulltime work at TJM on Thursday !!!
what a wild week it's been

not sure why your so keen on having the diff in the centre... the left & right CV's are the same length, hence the axle & housing extension on the left hand side...
centering the diff will alo throw the front drive shaft out of wack.
congratulation on the job, now you will have no spare money at all!!

I'm not sure what you mean by "centering the diff"?
I've read through the whole thread and it sounds to me like you have:
a steel housing
a steel carrier
muddy 5.1 R&P
22 spline axle and drivers side CV
air locker on the way
So you now need:
another 5.1 R&P - if you take Joeblow's advice.
26 spline long axle - if you get a GV one you will need to trim about 10mm off the spline - easy fix.
26 spline drivers side CV - you really only need the inner cup that pushes into the diff. Swap the drive shaft and the outer CV onto it.
You'd be mad not to go to the 26 splines. My 22 spline axle ran an airlocker and was bent when I pulled it out for the upgrade.
It's been fun reading this thread as I was the same when I did mine (I had no idea what I was doing! )

Yeah I'm stressing about that, At least I found out that I won't be losing my license, and I'm lucky I got this job. Perfect timing. Just that the olds are due back from OS in 2 weeks time and I wanted to get it out of their garage before they got home, I've been using the old mans Rodeo
Oh well, I'll just have to polish their cars so they can't complain.
I really do appreciate everyone's help..
