Hey everyone,
I've got a 99 Jimny and its started to handle really shitty in the front end and I've noticed the sway bar moves side to side.
So my question is, is the sway bar supposed to move side to side or is it supposed to be as stiff as a pornstars mangina?
And how easy is to fix?

Yeah you can move it by hand easily enough

side to side movement should not effect its opperation. The swaybar works by limiting torsional loads, not lateral loads.

Just make sure everything is tight and properly secured and drive it. I personally don't like the on-road behaviour of a jimny with no front swaybar. I vote - leave it alone.

I've found Jimny sway bars will tend to creap about 5 to 10mm to one side over time, its not a big deal, but if your noticing a handling problem there maybe other parts of the front suspention which need a look at. take the swaybar off and go for a drive, If the handling is worse than the swaybar is doing its job.

Righto I'll wait to I get me car back in a couple of days and i'll try taking it off and see how she handles.

Since 99 she has done 214,000 klms, since 2 "suspension lift roughly 60,000 klms.
I'm hoping to get her back tomorrow after it get's the rear main seal replaced and I'll check it all out then.
She needs 2 new front shocks I know that but she just doesn't want to handle corners at speed like she used to.It's like she's lazy while turning, a real hand full.

Ok woody, I should have asked questions first. replace the shocks first if you know there already worn out. I get really uncomfortable when the word "fast" is mixed with "Jimny". especially when the word "lifted" is in there too.
